Celebrate Earth Day with RainWise!
RainWise is a sustainable tool to help keep our waterways clean. With every storm, rain carries pollutants off our roofs, driveways and other hard surfaces to local creeks, Lake Washington and Puget Sound. Rain gardens and cisterns on private property can really help. In selected areas of Seattle, the City of Seattle and King County will pay up to 100 percent of the cost of installing rain gardens and cisterns on homeowners’ properties.
This webinar is for people in our region interested in adopting sustainable practices in their homes and yards including an in-depth look at how to take advantage of the RainWise program’s rebates for rain gardens and cisterns. At this webinar you will learn:
- green cleaning tips and recipes,
- resources for choosing safe products for both inside and outside the home,
- landscaping choices that make a real difference for air and water quality, and
- how RainWise cisterns and rain gardens contribute to a more sustainable Earth and how to get them installed in your yard.
Also, you will hear from sustainability experts and get resources on safe products and smart practices. Resources for private property owners not eligible for RainWise will be provided as well.
We recommend that you check your eligibility for a RainWise rebate in advance at https://www.700milliongallons.org/rainwise/eligibility.
